Guangxi Provincial Museum is located in the downtown area of the Nanning City, the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The museum is in glorious model and modern style that can immediately catch your eyes. The Museum was founded in 1954 and now it becomes one of the landmarks of Nanning City as well as the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.
The museum covers an area of 12,900 square meters with an exhibition area of 7,000 square meters. There are over 50,000 cultural relics on display. Among these relics, 400 of them are bronze drums. The 50,000 ancient books here will tell you the history of Guangxi Province.
The history relics of Guangxi Province can be traced back to 50,000 years ago. Here, you can find relics from the cobra bone of the Liujiang Man 50,000 years ago to the relics of the Opium War in 1840. And there are relics of Guangxi Revolution history and documents of every revolutionary period in the early 1920s. Besides, there are three special topic exhibitions including Guangxi Folklore, Guangxi Ancient Bronze Drums and Relics about the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom Uprising (1850-1864).
