Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge is located in Guyi Town of Sanjiang County in Liuzhou City of Guangxi Province. The bridge also called Yongji Bridge and Panlong Bridge. It is the most famous wind and rain bridge reflecting the wisdom and great creativity of Dong people. The Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge has a history of about 100 years, but it still keeps a well condition and complete appearance.
Chengyang Wind and Rain Bridge is the largest wind and rain bridge with magnificent and unique wooden structures. There is no single nail used in the construction of the bridge. On the surface of the bridge are fir and wood boards. This bridge perfectly combines the painting, corridor, Chinese pavilion, veranda and bridge together. There are 3piers, 4 spans, 2 platforms, 19 verandas and 3 floors. Only the piers are made of stones. The body of the bridge is made of wood with tiles on its roof.
The bridge was built in 1916. It is 64.4m in length, 3.4m in width, and 10.6m in height. The construction structure is called mortise and tenon construction which bound the wood together. The bridge is on the Linxi River. There are inlayed with railing on both sides of the bridge, making the bridge like a long corridor. Five kiosks which look like tower are on the bridge with horns delectated. There are also long stools set up for people to have a rest on both sides of the bridge.
