16 Days China Highlights Tour

Day 1Arrival Beijing

Your journey will begin in Beijing, one of the most mysterious cities in the world. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by TCT tour guide at Beijing international airport and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, free at leisure and have a good sleep to get over the jet lag.

Over the next several days, you’ll explore this ancient city which is also the political and cultural heart of China. Get ready for that.

Beijing City View

Day 2Beijing

You'll explore the historical captical by visit Tian'anmen Square, the largest public square in the world. Walk through the square and visit today's highlight Forbidden City, the largest and most complete ancient imperial palace in the world. Hike to Jingshan Park, where gives a nice panoramic view of the Forbidden City at the top of Coal Hill.

After lunch, drive to Back Lakes (Houhai), the marvelous place to discover the history of Beijing City and the endless charm. Enjoy long route Beijing Hutong tour by rickshaw, while you will experience the old Beijing leisurely and visit to the courtyard and local family. Rickshaw tour will be ended at Drum and Bell Tower which were central to official timekeeping in ancient China.

Back to your hotel after today leisure tour. You are free to ask your guide for suggestion of evening activities, such as the night show and place to have Peking duck dinner.

Beijing Hutong

Day 3Beijing

Before going to the Great Wall, you will visit Temple of Heaven, where the local resident will do morning exercises in the square. You will have chance to watch Chinese Kongfu, Taichi, square dancing, etc. and get to know the real folk master there.

Upon arrival Mutianyu Great Wall, enjoy your lunch nearby. Then start your half day exploration at Mutianyu Great Wall. You can choose to hike or take cable car up and roam around. The Mutianyu Great Wall has the largest construction scale and best quality among all sections of Great Wall.

Mutianyu Great Wall

Day 4BeijingXian

Enjoy half day leisure tour by visiting Summer Palace before leaving Beijing. It is China existing largest and best preserved imperial garden.  It is also a large natural landscape garden which used Kunming Lake and Longevity Hill as based address, modeled on the Hangzhou West Lake scenery. Enjoy boat ride on Kunming Lake is also a pleasant experience.

After lunch, be transferred to the train station for the 5 hours train to Xian. Your Xi'an tour guide will wait for you at the train station and help you to transfer to the hotel.

Summer Palace

Day 5Xian

Drive to explore Terracotta Warriors, one of the world's most important archaeological finds, with troops, horses and carriages in battle formation. Shuttle bus will be arranged for your convenience.

After lunch, continue to visit Tang Bo Art Museum, where gives you brief history and examples of Chinese art. The calligraphy lesson will be arranged and you will be taught how to write a couple of Chinese characters. After that, visit the Bell Tower which is the largest bell tower in structure and shape and the best-preserved one in China. Continue to visit Muslim Quarter and enjoy your shopping time there.

Back to the hotel. Tonight, we highly recommend you watch the Tang Dynasty Show with Dinner at your own cost.

Terracotta Warriors

Day 6XianChengdu

You will have enough time to pack up and check out. Be met at the hotel lobby and you will enjoy leisure tour in Xian city before leaving for Chengdu.

Visit the Ancient City Wall, which represents one of the oldest and best preserved Chinese city walls. Bicycle or sightseeing car will be arranged on the wall to go around. After that visit the Big Wild Goose Pagoda. After lunch, you will head to the airport, while on the way visit the Hanyang Mausoleum, the largest museum with largest floor space in China. Fly to Chengdu.

Ancient City Wall

Day 7Chengdu

Enjoy your interesting tour to Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding which is a huge institution replicates the natural habitat of the giant panda. Sightseeing shuttle bus is included. You will learn the habits and characteristics of Giant and baby pandas, observe them eating bamboos and playing around. Lunch will be arranged in a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, visit Renmin Park and it is the paradise for local people dancing, playing mahjong and drinking teas. Tea break will be arranged in the park as well as mahjong lesson if you are interested in. After that enjoy shopping time at Jinli Old Street which is the elegant style of the architectures tells you what Sichuan looks like during the Qing Dynasty.

Back to the hotel and the Face Changing show will be a good option or you can just stroll around Kuanzhai Alley which is the famous snack street in the evening.

Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

Day 8ChengduGuilin

Take a morning flight from Chengdu to Guilin. Upon arrival Guilin, you will be met by our local tour guide and transfer to downtown. Lunch is arranged at a local restaurant.

hen we will visit Reed Flute Cave which is a famous scenic spot offering a magic fairyland of stalactites, stalagmites in fantastic shapes and colors. After that, drive to Elephant Trunk Hill, the badge of Guilin city. The hill looks exactly like a huge elephant stretching its trunk drinking water of the Li River. Walking along the Li River and enjoy a short visit to the Golden and Silver Twin Pagodas by walking along Shanhu Lake bank.

Elephant Trunk Hill

Day 9GuilinLongshengGuilin

Drive to Longsheng in the morning, it takes around 2 hours to reach the entrance of Longji Terraces Scenic Area. With trekking for a while, we could see the stunning Longji Terraces. More than 700 years, the brave and smart local residents developed and built the paddies into hillsides surrounding their villages. With such a long history, the area is still being used for growing premium quality rice by Yao and Zhuang villagers.

Lunch will be arranged in the village restaurant. You will have free time to explore the minority villages and also walk into the rice terraces to take some good pictures. Return to your hotel. We highly recommend you take the Night Cruise sailing on four lakes, where will be illuminated at night.

Longji Rice Terraces

You will enjoy the highlight of this city - Li River Cruise tour with buffet lunch on board. Deluxe cruise will be arranged with decent facility and good service. Savor the fairy-tale scenery while cruising down the meandering river to Yangshuo. You can go on the sundeck or just sit and appreciate the picturesque scenery from the window.

After disembarking, walk through the West Street or take sightseeing car to the parking lot. Then drive back to hotel in Guilin.

Li River

Day 11GuilinHangzhou

Check out from hotel in the morning and drive to airport to catch the morning flight for Hangzhou. Upon arriving at Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport, you will be greeted by local guide.

After lunch, go ahead for Su Causeway, one of the top 10 Scenes of West Lake. Explore the West Lake in-depth, while the local public bike or shuttle bus is also available at your disposal. Firstly, bike from Su Causeway to West Lake Colored Port View Fish Garden about half an hour. There are thousands of red carps in the fishpond here. Enjoy the pleasure for feeding the red carps and have fun. After that, get back to Su Causeway and enjoy orientation walk to Bai Causeway about 1 hour, while you will appreciate most of the famous scenes.

Then visit the Lingyin Temple, which is one of the top ten most famous ancient Buddhist monasteries in China. It is also a tourist attraction that can offer you appealing places of historic interest, cultural relics as well as agreeable natural scenery. Free at leisure for the rest of the day.

West Lake

Day 12Hangzhou

Discover the Meijiawu Tea Culture Village which is considered the best to return to the nature. With its idyllic beauty, the tea farmer will take you to the mountain area and you will be impressed by the tea terraces of high and low hill-slops. As a tea fan, you will not only see tea picking and tea processing, but also have a chance to experience as a tea expert, entering a tea plantation, picking the tea leaves, visiting the tea farmer's house and enjoying the local tea ceremony.

Have a unique lunch-snacks banquet at Chenghuangge Pavilion, including a cup of flower tea, lotus powder, Hangzhou cat's ear noodle, crisp cakes and some other local snacks, while enjoying a traditional Chinese music instrumental performance during your snacks banquet

Free at leisure in the afternoon for you to explore Hefang Street by yourself.

Meijiawu Tea Planatation

Day 13HangzhouSuzhou

A leisure breakfast in hotel in the morning, then our guide will transfer you to train way station to catch a high speed train for Suzhou. After lunch, you will have a half day Suzhou city exploring tour to admire the classic Chinese gardens.

The first stop is Lingering Garden which is the large classical private garden in China. Lingering Garden was built in the Qing Dynasty style and it is known for exquisite architectural art. Next stop is at Lion Grove Garden.  It is one of the four greatest gardens and representative classic gardens in Suzhou City and has a history of more than 650 years. Then we will have a leisure walk along an ancient street --- Pingjiang Ancient Street , where many locals still living.

Lingering Garden

Day 14SuzhouShanghai

We will start today's tour to Suzhou Gardens and the Water Town by visiting Tongli Water Town, which was established in the Song Dynasty and very rich in cultural heritage. Enjoy your time and discover its long history and traditional residences including gardens, houses and temples which were built in the Ming Dynasty and Qing Dynasty. You will have a chance to take a local boating trip along the waterways.

After lunch, you will be transferred to Shanghai by private car directly and check-in at the hotel. Free at leisure for the rest of the day. Nanjing Road would be a nice place for hanging out at night.

Tongli Water Town

Day 15Shanghai

Today is you will visit Shanghai Old Street where you will find the 100-year-ago Shanghai here. And then, walk into the Shikumen, The old alley is also a blend of Western and Chinese traditional culture, where the local residents still live there. Enjoy orientation walk on the Bund which was a foreign trade center from the late 19th century.

After lunch, reach to the Lujiazui CBD new area and enjoy your leisure time on the Riverside Promenade. Have a cup of coffee and take a short break. In conclusion, visit Shanghai Tower which is the city skyline and Shanghai tallest building. Enjoy your Top of Shanghai journey and panoramic view of Shanghai city.

Free day at leisure and be transferred to the airport for return flight. We can arrange the Maglev train ride to Pudong airport if you are interested in, or we will drive you directly to the airport.
